Hooloovoo's Skating Tapes Welcome to my listing of Skating Videos. I'm a long time figure skating fan, but only in the past few years have I begun keeping my tapes. I am always open to trades for earlier stuff, otherwise I am more than willing to copy tapes for folks who have nothing to trade. Cost is $10 per tape which includes a mailer and US first class postage. Outside the US there will be additional shipping. Most tapes generally run 2 hours in SP mode and are of great quality, though some of the early stuff isn't super it is still watchable.

Technical Skills Page - Jumps Jumps There are two basic types of jumps, edge jumps and toe jumps. Edge jumps involve a take-off from one foot, while toe jumps use the toe pick to assist. All of the following jumps assume CCW rotation, which means you would always land on a RBO edge.

MONDEGREEN - Mondegreens Ripped My Flesh For those of you who have not yet received the pamphlet (mailed free to anyone who buys me an automobile), the word Mondegreen, meaning a mishearing of a popular phrase or song lyric, was coined by the writer Sylvia Wright.
MONDEGREEN - start.html I'm glad you asked that. A mondegreen is a lyric which is heard incorrectly. For example, the title of this page - "The Ants Are My Friends" - is a mondegreen for "the answer, my friends, is blowin' in the wind." The word "mondegreen" was coined by Sylvia Wright, who wrote a column about them in the fifties, when she recounted hearing a Scottish folk song, "The Bonny Earl Of Morray." She heard the lyric, "Oh, they have slain the Earl o' Morray and laid him on the green" as "Oh, they have slain the Earl o' Morray and Lady Mondegreen."
